Did you know that there is a waterfall inside of a cave in Lancaster County? Well, there is, and it's awesome!! You can witness the amazing power of nature first hand when you go inside of this 30 foot long rock that has been carved out by Tobe Run.

Exploring the cave is not for the faint of heart. The embankment going down to the mouth of the cave is very steep and once you go in the cave you will get your feet wet. But all of this is worth seeing this cave firsthand. Once you step in the cave you can feel the temperature drop and you immediately feel like you are in the Moss Garden Wishing Well from the Goonies. And if that isn't living out a childhood dream, then I don't know what is.

Getting to the lair is relatively easy, after parking at the pull-off that is at the junction of Old Pinnacle and Old Holtwood Rds., walk south on Old Holtwood Rd. Tobe Run is just on the other side of the guardrail. After about .2 miles you get to the cave. I actually could hear the water before I could see the cave. When you see the big rock, go over the guardrail and down the very steep embankment.

The cave itself is not very big and waterflow will depend on recent rainfall. So, the rainier it's been, the better the waterfall. This is also not a specific trail, and the amount of foliage that you will have to go through will depend on the season. There is also a waterfall at the top of the cave and several below it that are worth checking out.
